Ecodraw was given the task of ensuring that the design of a new primary school would meet its planning requirements and building regulations.

We produced a dynamic simulation TAS model of the school from the architects designs and input the electrical and mechanical plant in accordance to the engineers specifications.

With the detail of the development input we were able to simulate the predicted carbon emissions of the building and demonstrate that they would pass Part L2A of the building regulations.

As well as using the TAS model to predict the buildings carbon emissions, we used the model to show that the natural ventilation design would provide sufficient fresh air to the occupants, the amount of daylight each classroom would receive and also prove that the rooms would not overheat in accordance with BB101.
